Baek Hee-na’s first picture book, <i>Cloud Bread</i>, published in 2004, has evolved and expanded in various forms, reaching beyond Korea to the world. This work, which expresses the whimsical imagination of clouds turning into bread and people flying through the sky using a unique three-dimensional puppet technique, did not remain simply as a book but was reborn as musicals, animations, and other diverse content, reaching children around the globe.

<i>Cloud Bread</i> began attracting attention in overseas markets shortly after its publication. In 2005, it received international recognition when Baek Hee-na was selected as the Illustrator of the Year at the Bologna Children's Book Fair, the world’s largest children’s book event. Achieving exceptional sales of 400,000 copies for a picture book, <i>Cloud Bread</i> gained worldwide popularity, being translated and published in more than ten countries, including Sweden, Germany, France, China, Vietnam, and Norway, with an English edition published in 2011. Transcending language and culture, the warm story and distinctive visual expression of <i>Cloud Bread</i> captivated children worldwide.

In 2009, <i>Cloud Bread</i> was adapted into a children’s musical.
